We love barn weddings! They work well with many different
themes and look gorgeous. This beautiful barn wedding from Ohio looks a
little different to barns here in the UK. With this wedding, you’ll
still gain plenty of inspiration for a barn wedding of your own. We love
the idea of the hanging lights inside and that delicious dessert table!
Brittany & Andy married in October 2015 at The Stables in Whitehouse, Ohio. We hope you’ll agree, this venue is rather unique! Brittany wears a beautiful David’s Bridal dress while her bridesmaids wore pink dresses in all different shades. For Andy and the groomsmen, they wore dark jeans, cowboy boots and white shirts. This look suited the surroundings perfectly!
Big thank you to Yvonne Moryc of Photos by Yvonne for sharing this wedding with us. We hope you enjoy it!
Your love story
Brittany: “It was a very sweet and intimate proposal, my husband surprised me in our home with a wrapped box. Inside was a scarf with Mr. Darcys proposal from Jane Austins, Pride and Prejudice. He knew how much I love that book! On the bottom, he had written “Will you marry me?”. And we both laughed when he told me that his mother made him practice writing it on an old t-shirt because his handwriting is so bad!”
How did you arrange your wedding?
“The wedding was a collaborative effort between me and my husband, my mother, mother in law and so many other friends and family!”
What did you both wear?
“I wore a beautiful lace mermaid wedding dress from David’s Bridal and cowboy boots. My husband, Andy, was so excited because he got to wear jeans, a white button-up shirt, a grey vest and cowboy boots!”
What venue did you choose?
“We chose to get married at The Stables in Whitehouse, OH because the setting was the gorgeous rustic barn look we were looking for.”
Was the day how you imagined?
“The day was so incredible! It was the best day of my life! It was so filled with happiness and laughter it was all the people we love in one room! The best part was when the entire reception was cheering for the Michigan vs Michigan State game and everyone was yelling at the end of the game!”
What advice would you give to other couples?
“You are going to make decisions that someone else won’t like. Someone won’t like your invitations or your centerpieces but it’s not their day! And honestly, save your money for the things that really matter: your dress, venue, food, DJ, and photographer! The rest nobody will even remember! Your wedding is a party, not a performance and if at the end of the day you are married to the person you love, it was perfect.”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We went to Playa del Carmen in Mexico. We enjoyed a week at a 5-star hotel eating, drinking and swimming at the pool. We also had an amazing trip to see the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza.”
