New gallery to celebrate grand opening
Nonprofit Delightful Art is in the Davis Building in downtown Toledo
A new downtown gallery, Delightful Art, features work by Robin Schultes, above, and others. The grand opening will be Saturday in the Davis Building, 137 N. Michigan Ave.
The grand opening for a new downtown gallery called Delightful Art will be 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Davis Building, 137 N. Michigan Ave. at Monroe Street. There will be refreshments, DJ’d music, and plenty of art by featured artist, photographer Yvonne Moryc, and a couple of dozen others including Steve Cothern, Robin Schultes, Mania Dajnak, and KC St. John.
Delightful Art is a nonprofit established by Dee Brown, a University of Toledo grad who aims to support all artists, including those who may have been “left behind” because they’re elderly, live in a group home, are veterans, or are mentally or physically disabled, Brown said. In addition to the street-level gallery, Brown is renting a large room upstairs for art lessons.
Parking is on the street and in the large lot behind the gallery on 10th Street. The gallery will be open 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and closed Sunday and Wednesday. Information: 419-420-5516
